Final Overall Standings (add 5 points for Costume … indicated only where top 3 influenced)
What a great finale night. Costumes worn by many of the participants and many of those that didn’t wear costumes tried out single speeds so our 3 focuses of the night seemed to go over well! SOOOO many draw prizes from King Township, www.trektoronto.ca and Misfit Psycles and I can’t thank these sponsors for all their support, hopefully this venue and series continues to improve and grow.
Lots of new faces out trying the series, hopefully a few that we may see regularly next year ! Highlights of the night for me include:
1) other people showing up in costumes … you guys proved to be a very fun group!
2) Grahm striking a full out ninja pose on the top block of the podium
3) The tight battles in Vet / Master / Grand Master all working out and in one case being so close that costumes came into play!
Results for the night below … give me a day or so on the overall
wed night finale - costume - single speed Night Aug 27
Oh ! and I forgot to do a prize for costumes but to be honest there were so many people who put in huge efforts we wouldn’t have had much in the way of draw prizes so good on everyone!
If I had to choose my top 4 (no specific order)
1) Grahm - simply for the pose on the podium
2) Leslie Summers - Not sure of official title but was good and she still raced fast! Honerable mention to all the Summers (farmer mark / Harry Summers !) and Team Schweighart
3) Spider man - Can’t reveal his Identity since he raced (one lap) in the mask!! Thanks for coming out PeterK!
4) Jeff Kielley - if we had to choose, he would likely win … I can’t believe the full out pirate costume … and the boots … Never would have thought you would make it around without those getting caught !
Email me pics or post to the photo account as possible !! Thanks for a great Season!

SEE BELOW FOR FLYER FOR NEXT WEEKS FINALE!!! EMAIL TO FRIENDS!
Great weather this week, even getting a bit cool towards the end of the night. Some draw prizes handed out as usual with many going to ‘day of’ racers. Some tight battles for top spot in a few of the categories with next week’s finale and Single Speed/Costume night being important to those looking to maximize their points! A few categories (ie. junior men) still wide open and possible for a one day rider to walk in and claim top spot (if they wear a costume that is), so let your friends know !
Again please double check your overall standing and let me know if any dispute. I would like to have this finalized going into the weekend.

Night #15 -A bunch of new riders this week it looks like and from the looks of the times Hayden even excluded the start loop after the first lap for you guys! Thanks for coming out and let me know if I have interpreted the results correctly.
Also found some more name repeats and a couple errors in overall, no major shifts in top 5 in any category though I do not believe … lemme know

Night #14
Great turnout, great weather, great prizes and great corn made for another classic night at King Trails ! Thanks to all who came out and enjoyed a long course that was hilly and twisty with a few lesser used sections thrown in. Great to see a few returning riders who have been away for much of July, welcome back! Info hopefully come by friday about our last night but in general we will be looking to attract a bunch of single speeders and costumed riders for a good turnout and grand finale to our 2008 series. Be sure to get friends to come and try the series out as there will be lots of prizes, food and fun to be had!
2 Local photographers have taken interest in our series as well (you are all so beautiful) they intend to post their pictures (which are very good) on our photo site, will take a few days but check back periodically.
For our photographer friends Geoff and Larry, thank you and see the login / web address below on night 11 I believe.
Problems with results email me (may take until the following wed to correct)

Night #13
Big rainfalls in the morning and on the way home tonight but beautiful afternoon/evening for race setup and, more importantly, for racing! Lots of new faces, and some returning regulars from exotic vacations and and a good sized field tackled the shorter course that was relatively flat with 2 fairly unique corners thrown in. Have some new ideas for next week so stay tuned and keep your head up! Also thanks again to those who have been spreading the word … the series will keep growing with your help!
ALSO Official Single Speed / Costume Night will occur on August 27th, this will also be our final Night. Details will follow but bonus points will be given to those on single speeds (racing regular category or single-speed) and/or to those wearing a costume. Discounted race entry and prizes for top single-speeder and best costume will also be provided. Watch the blog and next week’s race for more details.

Canceled due to record rainfall, sounds like many had things on and parts on order so for the best I suppose … lets hope for clear skis for the rest of the summer!

Night #11 - July 16
Little hotter tonight but a beautiful day and, if I do say so myself, a great course with a few ‘crazy corners’ for variety. Lots of draw prizes thanks to a new shipment from both our generous sponsors Trek Store Toronto and King Township (Catherine from King also brought me a Sandwich to refuel after a few hours of work setting course!). As always our chiro friends were out and helped a few people needing work on chronic or acute injuries (please go and check them out … its free!) … Also free was pedal mag and some Tour DVDs … the benefits are endless! For me again the tight races (tonight even the under 12’s were going at it! … Leslie got a big of a challenge as Erica took a break from timing and tried out racing at the king trails … ah enough for tonight.
PS. check out the pictures and let me know what you think!

Night #10 - July 9th
A good crowd and a great night for our 10th night of wednesday Racing at King. After a great FREE BBQ last weekend courtesy of King Township I knew it would be tough to spoil riders again this week but between the weather, photographers, water (thanks Kent … I believe it was Kent), course and some brand new goodies from The Trek Store I think all riders in attendance were well taken care of. Tons more prizes and twists on courses to come so stay tunes. As the series progresses it is neat to see the battles going on for overall … particularily single speed where Miles proves that showing up every week is key (not to mention being pretty quick and a stand up guy). Women’s category has some pretty close battles between Summers / Guimond, Both of the large Vet and Master’s men categories are close and even the 13 and under class has some epic battles taking shape. Hope to see everyone out next week !!

Night #9 - See last week’s results below. With Peter back and Sean bounding with energy after a long weekend including a rare Tuesday off, the start loop got somewhat smoothed and was used each lap to create course measured between 5.9 and 6.2km, which made for minimal lapping and happy, burger filled smiles at the finish line. Thanks again to King Township for the great eats and as always to the Trek Store for their great support. Thanks also to everyone who took a try at Chiropractic treatment and went for a chat with Alex (who will be at the race most weeks … at your service!).
PS. Am going to create a photo account for the series that anyone can post pictures too, login/address to come soon … check back and get loved ones to come with cameras!!

Night #7 - Despite weather forecasts we had a pretty good night for racing again! A longer course greeted racers after a few weeks of a well received short(er) course. Thanks to all that came out and also for the suggestions/feedback on course design/length etc. Keep them coming and I’ll try to incorporate your ideas over the many weeks of great racing we have ahead of us!!!
Let me know if any problems with results below. (UPDATED)

June 18 REsults - Andrew S./Summers fast lap / Sher doubling corrected - lemme know if otherNight #6 - Fantastic Night for racing with the heat FINALLY taking a break and a nice breeze making for a fine evening. Big crowd out tonight, thanks so much for coming out (and telling your friends … and enemies to come out too!). This week I achieved my goal of a short course with the top dudes and dudettes coming in the 10-12min range. Some great prizes from Trek Store and King Township as usual and Sean was lucky enough to have his multi-tool tirelever/spoke wrench found on the trail and returned. Enjoy your weekend and pray for it to rain only at night … or perhaps late evening. Results below (some crazy computer conflicts made for a bit more work this week so excuse my tardiness getting them up).
OH !! … one last thing. We are lucky enough to have a chiropractor on site for emergencies but ALSO available to provide treatment for any of your aches and pains. If you have never tried chiro out (or your like me and you are very frugal/cheap) go see Sandy and/or Alex next week (at least talk to him!).
OH! OH! If anyone has connects with a water company I would be interested in talking to them about possible partnering/sponsorship for the series, in the form of water for participants.
That is all.
Night #5 - June 4 2008 - Another great crowd out with many returning racers looking for a few more points towards overall standings (up soon), also some new faces of various ages which is great to see, especially those who have never tried racing. This week’s course was a wee bit shorter but made tricky with a few unnatural corners into uphills. Weather held out again and great draw prizes again this week from Trek Store Toronto and King Township.
Night #4 - May 28 2008 - Great weather … FINALLY!. I think we have paid our dues and we should hopefully start seeing more and more enthusiastic and fun loving riders out to enjoy some great single-track. Great to see a few beginners out trying racing for the first time and also that ’serious’ racers are able to coexist and have a good time. Thanks again to all who have been out every week and to those that came to race for the first time this evening (and hopefully for the rest of the year!). We will keep our $90 for the rest of the series offer open for another week so give it some thought as it is well worth it unless you are going to miss a bunch of races (and you wouldn’t do that would you?!?!). Best of luck to everyone at whatever you get into this weekend. — Peter
Wednesday Results updated - Nat no longer a senior female / Edmunds corrected to 1lap
Night #3 - May 21 2008 - Okay so I promised … It wasn’t that bad and all had a good time riding the trails in reverse direction with a few crazy turns thrown in for good measure. Tire choices included everything from full on knobbies to super slick Stan’s Crow’s (which actually seemed to work okay). Sean says next week will be good and I figure 4 in a row is unlikely. As a special bonus we are offering a $90 full season rate for anyone who hasn’t had a chance to purchase theirs yet, this rate is quite reasonable given the 15 remaining races in the series! Thanks so much to those who have come out for 3 weeks of mud and slime, lets hope we are paying forward and the rest of the summer will be sunny and warm (but not to warm!) - Peter
PS. if you are in the wrong category email me as I neglected to get ages off a few new racers this week.
Race #3 — Wednesday May 21 Results
Night #2 - May 14 2008 - 2nd night out was another great night. Building off our first wet week we had some nasty forecasts and looming clouds to deal with but the rain held off and a good sized group enjoyed 2 or 3 laps of the King Trails. As always draw prizes and smiles at the finish line. Remember that signing up for the series can still provide savings at this point in the season. Next week Sunshine is for sure! Peter.
Night #1 - May 7 2008 - Our first night was met by a keen group of racers despite the steady drizzle. Thanks to those that came out and the Trek Bicycle Store for their support. I look forward to meeting those that didn’t make it out this week and am happy to have met those of you who I got a chance to chat with today. In the coming weeks look for the inclusion of several new wide open sections allowing for more passing and a few new course options. Peter
